Meet Commissioner Jeb Ball:

Baldwin County Commissioner James E. “Jeb” Ball represents District 1 and is a lifelong Baldwin County resident, born and raised in the community he serves. Now in his second term, Ball is seeking re-election to continue providing a steady, responsible hand as Baldwin County grows—grounded in common-sense conservative values, strong fiscal stewardship, and long-term planning for guided growth.

During his time on the County Commission, Ball has worked alongside colleagues to deliver major results for North Baldwin and the entire county. He is especially proud of helping bring Novelis to the South Alabama Mega Site, a transformational project expected to bring thousands of jobs and billions in new investment. Additional priorities and accomplishments include securing funding for key public safety and justice needs—including a new county jail, courthouse renovations, and the completion of the Baldwin County District Attorney’s Office—while also advancing smart infrastructure and quality-of-life projects such as new public boat launches, a new state-of-the-art animal shelter, and upgrades to Live Oak Landing and Bicentennial Park. Ball also helped create the Baldwin County Solid Waste Authority, supporting a new recycling facility and the Landfill Gas to Energy project, and backed workforce-focused education through a $5 million investment in Baldwin Preparatory Academy.

Ball’s career spans more than three decades in public service, including roles in the Baldwin County District Attorney’s Office and as a Court Referral Officer. He also founded Baldwin Substance Abuse Services Inc., where he continues to lead court-ordered substance abuse education programs as program director. He is involved with several community organizations, including the Baldwin County Drug Court Board, the Community Action Agency of South Alabama, and the Mobile Bay National Estuary Program, and is a graduate of the Association of County Commissions of Alabama’s PLAN Leadership Program. He also serves as Vice Chair of the Association of County Commissioners Workers’ Compensation Board.

A graduate of Baldwin County High School and Troy University, Ball lives in Bay Minette with his wife and daughter and has been active with City Hope Church, Malbis Campus, for more than 13 years.
